This charming pastel drawing of a robin in its nest on the bough of a tree, suitable for the country house or children's room.

Bertha Hurlbut Dougherty was an etcher and painter. Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, she received her artistic training at Fawcett Art School and the New York School of Design for Women. She participated in numerous exhibitions through at least 1945, at venues such as Montclair Art Museum, Vassar College and the New York Public Library, and had a one-person show at the Smithsonian Institution.
